Color Management starts with having a monitor you can trust. It must be calibrated both for color and brightness. Most flat LCD monitors are way too bright, which means the files you send to your printer will be too dark.
This is my tethered setup. When my 60 megapixel camera captures an image, it shows up on a calibrated monitor. The Passport Color Checker allows me to neutralize the colors bouncing off the walls of different rooms.
I work mainly on location because transporting valuable paintings is always risky and hiring it done is very expensive. With this setup, the client can be sure that the capture matches the painting very closely.
For an extra charge, I can shoot the painting in its frame, saving wear and tear on the piece.
